What is the best and most reliable way to get your prospects attention?  With your HEADLINE of course.

A headline is not just that line at the top of a newspaper article or web article.  It can be the lead-in to a paragraph, a header or footer on a picture, a line on your business card or any other “one liner” that is designed to grab the attention of a potential buyer for your product or service.

So, what are the perfect elements in a headline?

When in doubt, follow what the masters say.  No one is a better master than Jay Abraham at writing award winning, profit-pulling headlines.

Here’s your homework: Go to Google.com and type in “100 Greatest Headlines of All Time” and Jay’s article will show up in the top spot (think he knows something about good Search Engine Optimization?)

  1. Print it out
  2. Subscribe to his newsletter
  3. Read the article
  4. Highlight the article
  5. Start using those tips in your ads
  6. See better results from your ads

Ok, get to work!

People ask me all the time “Where do you advertise?” to build my list, sell products, etc.

There are a couple of places that ALL marketers use because they just flat out work.

  1. Top Surfer Get 4000 hits to your site for $10 and get the best advertising package on the net.  ALL major marketers use Top Surfer to launch and sustain their advertising.
  2. Traffic Swarm Another classic.  Not the cheapest but produces reliable results over and over and over again.
  3. Business World List The oldest “Safe List” of its kind.  Very reasonable and reliable.

Hints on how to use these valuable business resources:

  • Never advertise your business site directly.  Use a lead capture page (squeeze page) to get the prospect in your autoresponder for maximum effectiveness.
  • Keep messages short
  • Drive the prospect to a clear action (go to my blog, email me back, call this number, etc.) so they know exactly what to do.
  • Be consistent.  Advertise the same message over and over.  Gives you an image of consistency and purpose.
  • Always use a “P.S.” in your email.  Re-emphasize exactly what you want them to do and why and give them the action direction again.

With these tips and top resources, you will be off to the races in building your list and making money.
